Swoon List Etsy Finds

I Love Etsy!

There I've said it, and I mean it gosh darn it.

I have been shopping on Etsy since pretty much it's inception, I even had a digital shop for a few years.

I've been coveting quite a few items lately and at the risk of them selling out and not being able to buy them myself, I thought I would share a few. I know it's magnanimous of me! Your welcome!

Etsy shop En Bier, Bitte!
I mean come on! This is so stinking cute--- and I DO want to be a Unicorn so needles to say, I love it.

Etsy shop Vitaminaeu
Keeping with the Unicorn theme, These his and her Unicorn tea cups are just about the cutest thing I've seen in a really long time.

This reading tea cup from the same shop is right up my alley as well. Decisions, decisions.

Etsy shop Krafternal

Harry Potter fans rejoice! Now you too can have the Grimm in your future. Not sure that's such a great thing now that I come to think about it... Oh well I still love it!

Etsy shop CatMadeCom
I would have gone crazy for these as a teenage. I feel like personally I'm a little old to wear these now but, oh do I wish I could pull it off.

Etsy shop 813Glassworks
If you are a Lord of the Rings fan you will know exactly how amazing this is. I want it for my bumper pretty badly.

Etsy shop Bijoulovely
What a beautiful knitting gauge to keep with you in your project bag.

Etsy shop Bijoulovely
It's also available for stitching.

Etsy shop polyclaydesign
I'm not a huge fan of the movie Up, I liked it enough but, it wasn't my favorite. This Up inspired pin however is pretty fantastic.

Etsy Shop SucreSucreMiniatures
Now this ones a little different because though I would love to have these little beauty's I do have a few already. Chelsea at Sucre Sucre Miniatures is an amazing artist. All of her creations are hand made out of Polymer clay, she does not use molds and I can tell you (having a few myself) that the attention to detail is remarkable.

She has knitting stitch markers, crochet or lobster clasp stitch markers, charms, necklaces and also rings.

I'm pretty smitten with the poutine one and must get it on a lobster clasp.

There are so many other listings and shops on Etsy to love, these are just a few of the ones I've been eying lately.

What do you think? What is one of your favorite shops or a listing you can't get off your mind? I'd love to check out some new ideas.

Swoon List Valentine's Day Edition

It's been a while since I've posted a Swoon List and I was looking through some Valentine's Day ideas on Pintrest and couldn't help but, share some of the lovely ideas.

Talk about a Romantic getaway, I love this rooms styling so much. I seriously just want to curl up and crochet or read in it all day.

I think it's good that my home doesn't look like this because I would never leave!

This easy to follow tutorial on covering letters with yarn is right up my alley, I am seriously tempted to make it for this year's decorations.

Tutorial can be found on the blog my sisters suitcase
Call me sappy but, if I came home to something like this I would be a very happy lady.

found on the Signeroo blog
I love how something so simple, can make such a bit impact.

this garland is available on the Etsy shop TheLittleThingsEV
If you were thinking of baking a cake this year Better Recipes shows how you can make a heart shape without a special pan. Genius!

I would literately flip my lid if I got this. I can't even explain how much I love it; I don't know if I could open it though. You can buy the tiny parcel and even super tiny hand written letters at The Worlds Smallest Post Service

I love this idea, I've seen it done with felt but this is very snazzy for Valentine's Day with the sequins.

I printed out a copy of this Free Printable from TomKat Studios and added it to my photo gallery in my front Hall. I have one picture frame that gets a different holiday photo added to it as the seasons change. This printable was too good to pass up.

This is such a simple and clever idea; it would be a great project to do with kids as well.

you can find the tutorial at the clumsy crafter

Love this book page bunting; I'd probably keep it up all year!

And lastly this incredibly adorable idea, I think I'll be making something similar this weekend, I have a small white jug that would look great with some Valentine's day twigs in it.

Tutorial found on Money Hip Mamas blog

I hope you enjoyed the Valentines edition of the Swoon List. I'm going to get crafting now!

Organization Is Needed, Consider This The Before

I am one of those people who needs to organize their space after every project they finish.

During the Christmas season I had so many projects on the go, I never had a chance to organize things.

So when I went into my studio last week to get out my blocking mats for the sacred spirit shawl, I was amazed I had gotten things into such a state.

My Goodness! I know I'm messy and like chaos but, this is ridiculous.

I got to the point that I was just setting things anywhere. As you can see in the stacking white bins I have all of my recent fiber waiting to be photographed for Ravelry and put away.

My yarn cubbies need some orgnization for sure.

I can't even get to my cutting table anymore, not that there is enough room to cut on it anyway.

Most importantly I am in desperate need of a place to put some of my tools.

Queue the peg board you see leaning against the wall in this photo. I am planning to mount and paint this board to hold all of my tools for quilting and such.

The next time you see this room it will be in tip top shape.

Sacred Spirit Shawl

I got down to the wire on completing this shawl.

Shocking I know.

I've been working on this shawl for a few months as a Christmas gift for my Step Monster (an affectionate nickname I assure you), some people deserve hand knits and she is one of them.

I made a couple of adjustments to the pattern in the last two rows.

On the last knitted row their were a lot of beads added. Almost every other stitch had a bead on it. This looked great on the sample knits I saw of the shawl but, with the weight of my yarn and the fact that it was a singles yarn with quite the halo it just wasn't looking right to me.

So I decided to only add the beads that finished of the boarder pattern and not add the extra beads.

When it came down to the bind off the pattern recommended a picot bind off. Again it looked great in the sample knits but, wasn't looking right on mine. That could be a personal preference, could be the yarn or it could be because it didn't have all of the beads to weight it down. Regardless of the reason I went with my favorite stretchy bind off and called it good.

Over all I loved working on this shawl and really enjoyed the yarn and working with the beads. I had a little trouble figuring out how to position the shawl for blocking and think I will change it a bit the next time I block it but, over all I was happy.

Most importantly the recipient loved it, and what crafter can ask for more than that..

Pattern: Sacred Spirit  by Boo Knits.

Yarn: Knit Picks Chroma Fingering in the Avalon color way
